Margaret Ansei, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), has praised the determination and resilience of young Ghanaian entrepreneurs after presenting start-up kits to 228 beneficiaries of the BizBox Project in Ho.
The beneficiaries, trained under the Apprenticeship to Entrepreneurship (A2E) and Agric and Agribusiness to Entrepreneurship (AA2E) components of the GEA–Mastercard Foundation partnership, completed months of hands-on practical training in fruit juice processing, dressmaking, hairdressing, masonry, and other vocational trades.
In a message shared on her Facebook page, Margaret Ansei described the ceremony as deeply inspiring, noting that the young people were stepping into “a new chapter” of their lives.
“Presenting their start-up kits felt like handing over the tools to shape their futures,” she wrote. “I encouraged them to be innovative, uphold integrity, and build businesses that will lift their communities and stand the test of time.”
She commended their confidence, discipline, and passion, adding that their progress demonstrates the power of targeted youth empowerment initiatives. “Their energy was a powerful reminder of what is possible when young people are given the chance to thrive,” Margaret Ansei added.
The event attracted several dignitaries, including Volta Regional Minister Hon. James Gunu, Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, Member of Parliament for Ho Central, and a representative of the House of Chiefs. Also present were officials from the GEA and the BizBox Project team: Mrs. Mary Nkrumah Inusah, Partnership Coordinator; Mr. Abdul Latif Ibn Mohammed, Deputy National Project Coordinator; Ms. Rejoice Tettey, Corporate Affairs Officer; and Ms. Fatima Issaka, Coordinator for Agric and Agribusiness to Entrepreneurship.
The occasion marked another milestone in the national effort to equip young people with the skills, tools, and opportunities they need to build sustainable livelihoods.
