The Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Enerst Brogya Genfi, has held a productive meeting with the Mexican Ambassador to Ghana as part of renewed efforts to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The discussions centred on enhancing defence and security cooperation, with both sides exploring prospects for training exchanges, technology collaboration, and disaster management support. The two officials also reaffirmed their shared commitment to democracy, multilateralism, and sustainable development.
They highlighted the importance of Ghana–Mexico cooperation in tackling global challenges, including peacekeeping, climate change, and migration, noting that stronger ties would contribute positively to regional and international stability.
Hon. Brogya Genfi underscored Ghana’s strategic position as a gateway to the West African sub-region and welcomed Mexico’s interest in expanding its partnerships across the area. He expressed confidence that the engagement would open avenues for deeper collaboration not only in defence, but also in economic and cultural sectors.
The Deputy Minister thanked the Ambassador for the visit and assured him of Ghana’s readiness to work closely with Mexico to advance shared interests and strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two nations.
