The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Osman Ayariga Esq., has challenged the selected trainees of the Digital, Innovation, and Vocational Employability (DIVE) program to go beyond merely participating and instead become innovators. He made this call during the official launch of the DIVE training program, organized by the British Council.
Mr. Ayariga urged the trainees to apply their newly acquired skills to tackle local challenges. “Let your Capstone Projects be the foundation of the next great Ghanaian tech startup or social enterprise,” he said. “Remember, with the opportunities we create comes the responsibility to extend those opportunities to others.”
He further emphasized that the National Youth Authority is proud to support the DIVE initiative, stating, “Through programs like DIVE, we show that when strategic partnerships are paired with a clear vision and committed execution, we can create pathways that transform lives, strengthen communities, and build a prosperous future for Ghana.”
Nii Doodo Doodo, the Country Director for the British Council, explained that the purpose of the launch was to underscore the importance of digital skills and innovation for youth employability. He also highlighted the value of collaboration with key partners supporting young people and introduced the selected participants, giving a glimpse of the journey ahead.
The DIVE training program is an intensive eight-week STEM and digital skills initiative, targeting 80 recent graduates in Ghana. The program will empower participants to apply their learning through a Capstone project, enabling them to solve real-world challenges and showcase their innovation.
