Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will be submitting his nomination forms to the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) today, Thursday, August 28.
This is to enable him to contest in the upcoming flagbearer race of the NPP.
“This morning Dr Bawumia submits his nomination forms,” Ofoase Ayirebi Lawmaker Kojo Opong Nkrumah wrote on X.
Ahead of the submission, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, spokesperson of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, said the former Vice President is best suited to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections.
He makes the point that Dr Bawumia is prepared, formidable, and winnable.
Miracles added that Dr Bawumia is the most marketable of all the aspirants, having travelled this journey, most experienced with the character that’s needed for the Presidency of this country.
“He offers the NPP the faster path to victory in 2028, and this is founded on electoral history, trend and record of this country. Dr. Bawumia has proven the capacity to get nearly 42% of the votes; now the real work is getting an additional 9% to capture victory in 2028. With Bawumia, we have a better chance of winning 2028. Let’s go for it,” he wrote on Facebook.
