The aggrieved teachers from the 2022 batch of Colleges of Education-trained graduates have suspended their picketing following assurances from the Ghana Education Service (GES) that their outstanding salaries will be paid by the end of July.

On Monday, June 23, 2025, the teachers gathered at the GES headquarters to demand explanations over months of unpaid salaries and delays in the issuance of staff identification numbers.

Speaking to Citi News on Tuesday, June 24, the group’s spokesperson, Eric Darfuor, said they were assured by the Public Relations Officer of the GES that their concerns are being addressed and that salary payments will commence by the end of July.

“The PRO said there has been an official communiqué from GES, so we have suspended our picketing for now, and we are hoping to receive our salaries by the end of July. The PRO said they are at the final stage of resolving our issue, so very soon we will receive our salary.

“So we are waiting and waiting for the very soon, by the end of July, so when the time is due, and we do not hear anything from them, we will come back again stronger.”

The group says it will continue to monitor the situation closely and resume protest actions if the promises are not fulfilled.
