Presidential Adviser and Special Aide to President Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari has responded to allegations by members of the opposition New Patriotic Party that she illegally acquired a vehicle for personal use.
In a post on Instagram, February 24, 2025, Joyce Bawah noted that members of the opposition New Patriotic Party have resorted to “baseless, needless and unjustified tactics” after losing the elections.
She said the allegations against her are untrue as she lawfully acquired the vehicle for personal use.
“Their attacks would have been justified if in their haste to attack me, they were able to show that the acquisition was not in full compliance with my Conditions of Service or any law,” she wrote.
Joyce Bawah affirmed that her compliance and adherence to the country’s existing laws is evident from the fact that she has never been a subject in any scandal or investigation regarding the acquisition of the vehicle which is clamed to have been illegally acquired.
Despite her adherence to the laws of the land, she said leading figures and rank and file of the NPP, have made her a target of their “frustration and constantly throw accusations” at her yet none has been proven to be true.
She further emphasised that she is not the determinant for valuation of vehicles and as such any one seeking to find out the valuation of her vehicle should enquire from the State Transport Corporation (STC).
“Valuation of vehicles are done by STC and as the experts, they have their established criteria for conducting valuations on vehicles so it is completely out of place for anyone to attack me for the price of the vehicle when the real questions should be directed at STC to lay bare the parameters for conducting valuations to determine prices of vehicles.”
Joyce Bawah said she will, henceforth, not hesitate to pursue legal action against anyone with such false publication.
“Notice is hereby given that, unlike before, I won’t hesitate to take legal action against such perpetrators of such false and malicious publications.
“It is not surprising that Ghanaians kicked the incompetent and nation wrecking NPP party out of government,” her post concluded.
