The Minority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has confirmed his participation in the 2025 edition of Celestial Praize XI, an annual gospel praise and worship event hosted by celebrated Ghanaian gospel musician Celestine Donkor.
Afenyo-Markin shared the news after hosting Celestine Donkor and her manager, Kofi Donkor, at his office on Monday morning. The visit was to officially extend an invitation to him for the highly anticipated event, which has grown into one of the most revered gospel gatherings in Ghana.
Describing the invitation as a great opportunity, the Minority Leader expressed his excitement about joining fellow Christians and worshippers to praise the Most High God.
“This, to me, is another opportunity to join fellow Christians and persons of faith in a time of praise and worship to the Most High God who truly inhabits the praise of His people,” Afenyo-Markin stated, adding humorously that he would be “training his voice ahead” of the event.
Celestine Donkor, known for her soul-stirring gospel songs and dynamic stage presence, has consistently used Celestial Praize as a platform to bring people together in worship. Over the years, the event has attracted thousands of worshippers, gospel ministers, and key figures in Ghana’s religious and political spheres.
The 2025 edition, Celestial Praize XI, is expected to be another spirit-filled gathering, featuring powerful ministrations from renowned gospel artists and choirs. The event, which has become a key fixture on the Christian calendar, will once again create an atmosphere for deep worship and divine encounters.
While details of the venue and guest performers are yet to be announced, Afenyo-Markin’s confirmation adds to the anticipation surrounding the event.
