Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reflect on its mistakes following its resounding defeat in the 2024 general elections.
President John Dramani Mahama secured a decisive victory, with the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, falling short in the race.
Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV with Bernard Avle, Kpebu attributed the NPP’s loss to arrogance and poor governance.
He accused the party of ignoring valuable counsel from stakeholders and advised against selecting a candidate with similar leadership traits to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in future elections.
“You guys did a good job in the election 2024, the whole year, Joy FM, Citi FM, and TV3 you did great, that is how come we kicked the NPP out for bad governance. I hope they will learn a lesson and come back better next time.
“You guys should go and learn governance, the arrogance was too much, the posturing, as if you were the only Ghanaians. Please learn, learn, don’t bring somebody in the nature of Akufo-Addo again.”
