Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the newly appointed Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, has expressed her profound gratitude to God, former President John Dramani Mahama, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for entrusting her with the significant role of leading Ghana’s tourism and creative arts sector.

In an emotional statement following her successful swearing in yesterday by President John Mahama, Hon. Dzifa Gomashie acknowledged the unwavering support of her family, chiefs, friends, colleagues, and constituents, describing their presence and encouragement as a driving force in her public service journey.

“I am truly indebted to you for your love and support, which continue to make this journey possible, memorable, and life-changing,” she said.

Despite the limited space and restrictive arrangements in the vetting room, the former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts noted that many loved ones and colleagues still chose to attend and offer their support. Their commitment, she said, was a testament to their belief in her leadership and vision.

“Throughout my years of public service, many of you have been a steadfast source of wisdom, kindness, and hope, from which I continually draw inspiration and strength. You make me a better servant, and you make me a better woman,” she added.

Hon. Gomashie pledged to channel her energy and expertise into revitalizing Ghana’s tourism, culture, and creative arts industries, describing this next chapter as an opportunity to work collaboratively to “reset Ghana.”

As the country’s tourism and creative sectors continue to recover post-pandemic, Hon. Gomashie’s leadership is expected to usher in innovative policies and initiatives to drive growth and global recognition for Ghana.

“Thank you! Akpe na mi kataa,” she concluded, reaffirming her confidence in the collective effort needed to make Ghana a hub for cultural and creative excellence.

Her appointment has been widely celebrated, with many lauding her extensive experience in the arts and her passion for preserving Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.
