President John Dramani Mahama is set to commence his much-anticipated nationwide Thank You Tour this Friday in the Volta Region. The tour is an opportunity for the President to personally express his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Ghana for the overwhelming support and confidence reposed in him during the 2024 elections.
The Volta Region, known as the “World Bank” of the ruling party, will host a grand durbar to welcome the President. The event will bring together traditional leaders, including chiefs and queen mothers, as well as opinion leaders, religious figures, representatives of labour unions, and members of the informal sector.
According to a statement from Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, the Thank You Tour aims to strengthen the bond between the President and Ghanaians while acknowledging the critical role citizens play in nation-building.
“President Mahama is steadfastly committed to fulfilling his campaign promises and ensuring effective governance,” the statement read. Notably, the President has already set a historic precedent by announcing his full cabinet within two weeks of assuming office, a move widely praised as a demonstration of his readiness to tackle Ghana’s most pressing challenges.
The tour marks the beginning of a series of engagements across the country to celebrate the contributions of Ghanaians and reaffirm the President’s dedication to building a unified and prosperous nation.
