The President is expected to engage with conflict factions and key stakeholders to foster peace in the region.
The engagement with security chiefs forms part of President Mahama’s efforts to prioritise peacebuilding in Bawku, which has been a hotspot of ethno-political conflict for decades.
The Bawku conflict, primarily between the Kusasis and Mamprusis, has claimed numerous lives and displaced many residents, stifling socio-economic progress in the region.
