President John Dramani Mahama and his wife, Lordina Mahama, welcomed the Executive Presbytery of the Assemblies of God Church, led by General Superintendent Rev. Stephen Wengam, to their residence earlier today. The visit was in recognition of the Electoral Commission’s declaration of the presidential election results.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Mahama expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the church for its steadfast support and guidance over the years. “As a proud member of the Assemblies of God, I am committed to leading our beloved nation with integrity and transparency,” he affirmed.
The meeting was marked by prayers and blessings from Rev. Wengam, who extended spiritual support to Mahama, his family, and his team. Mahama, in turn, expressed appreciation for the prayers and pledged to work with faith and dedication to “reset and uplift Ghana.”
The former president emphasized his vision of steering the country towards a path of unity, development, and integrity, with the Assemblies of God playing a vital role in providing spiritual guidance.
This engagement reflects Mahama’s strong ties to his faith community and his commitment to values-driven leadership as he prepares to lead Ghana in this new chapter.
