The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unveiled plans to cap off its 2024 campaign with a major event on December 5, 2024. Dubbed the Possibilities Victory Rally, the gathering will take place at the UG Sports Directorate Park, located opposite the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra.
In a statement released on November 30, 2024, the party’s National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, called on members, supporters, and Ghanaians from all walks of life to join what he described as “a momentous occasion, set to be broadcast across all media platforms.”
The rally promises to be a star-studded affair, featuring speeches and appearances from prominent figures such as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, NPP presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former President John Agyekum Kufuor, running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, National Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim, and General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong.
Final Push Amid Fierce Competition
Interestingly, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has also chosen December 5 for its final rally, setting the stage for a head-to-head battle of campaign finales. This coincidental scheduling has heightened anticipation as both parties gear up to energize their supporters and court undecided voters ahead of the December 7 polls.
The NPP plans to use the occasion to highlight its accomplishments over the years and present its vision for a prosperous Ghana under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership.
On the other hand, the NDC, led by former President John Dramani Mahama, is expected to outline its governance agenda while critiquing the incumbent government’s performance.
With the stakes at an all-time high, these final rallies are poised to play a critical role in shaping voter sentiment in what analysts predict will be one of Ghana’s most fiercely contested elections.
