Former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has openly challenged the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, pressing him to address several pressing economic concerns.
In a recent social media post, Mahama posed five critical questions to Dr. Bawumia, focusing on the state of the economy.
These questions addressed issues such as the steady decline of the Ghanaian cedi and what Mahama perceives as Bawumia’s reluctance to discuss the nation’s worsening economic conditions.
However, Mahama has declined an invitation to debate Dr. Bawumia ahead of the 2024 elections.
He referenced a past statement from Bawumia, where Bawumia suggested Mahama should debate those he failed before the 2016 elections. In light of this, Mahama has argued that it is now Bawumia’s responsibility to engage directly with Ghanaians, given the current economic challenges they face.
