President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has lauded the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as a loyal and committed partner, having worked closely with him for nearly two decades.
Addressing chiefs and opinion leaders in Wa, in the Upper West Region, President Akufo-Addo expressed his confidence in Bawumia’s loyalty and competence, stating that he has never doubted the vice president’s dedication to serving the nation.
According to Akufo-Addo, a vote for Bawumia is a vote for loyalty, commitment, and dedication. The president encouraged Ghanaians to support Bawumia in the upcoming 2024 elections to continue the NPP’s developmental agenda.
In his remarks, President Akufo-Addo also criticized the opposition leader, John Dramani Mahama, urging voters to choose Bawumia as the candidate capable of building on the progress the NPP has made.
“In the nearly 20 years that I have been working with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, I have not had one day, one occasion to doubt his loyalty, to doubt his commitment to our common goal. And I have come here to ask you for your support to make Bawumia break the 8.
“I see that the former president is saying all kinds of things about the number 8 that he chose. That it means he is going to win. Breaking the 8 and having the number 8, that is not a good sign at all.”
