Prez Mahama Assures Upper East Region Of More Dams For Year Round Farming

President John Dramani Mahama, has assured the people of the Upper East region that government will construct irrigation Dams to allow them to have an all year round farming season.

He said the next four years of his administration will see the green revolution regime, which includes boosting agricultural and tree growing.

Addressing a rally at Garu Tempane, President Mahama, assured them of the early completion of the Tamne Irrigation Dam.

In July this year, President Mahama, cut sod for work to start on a three thousand acre Tamne Irrigation Project for the people of Bawku and surrounding towns.

The Tamne project has been on the wish list of the people since the 1970’s.

President Mahama, said the Agriculture Ministry has identified seven other areas to benefit from irrigation projects.

He asked the people to ignore the one dam one village propaganda of the opposition NP
