President Mahama To Cut Sod For Upper East Farmer Service Center Project Tomorrow

President John Mahama, will on Wednesday, November 23, cut sod for work to start on a farmer Service centre for the people of the Upper East region.

The Centre will be situated at Tonon.

The Farmer Service Centre is a one stop shop for the provision of Farmer services, produce marketing, mechanization, fertilizer distribution and provision of credit facilities among others to farmers.

It is an initiative by government to provide assistance to the country’s farmers.

Fifty of the centers will be built in farming communities across the country.

Each of the centers will be equipped with about ten tractors and an Agric extension officer to provide expert advice to farmers.

President Mahama, mentioned this when he called on the Chief of Naga in the Navrongo East district who is also the President of the Upper East regional house of Chiefs Naba Sigri Bewong, at his Palace.

Last week the President cut sod for the first Centre at Gwollu in the Upper West region.
