Ghana records increase in non-traditional exports in 2015

Ghana’s total earnings from the export of non-traditional products hit 9.2 billion Ghana cedis in 2015.

This represents 0.3% increase compared to the 7.29 billion Ghana cedis recorded in 2014.

According to figures released by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, GEPA, the slight increase is attributed to the improvement in export of agricultural products, especially cashew nuts.

The slight growth was also mainly driven by the processed and semi processed sub-sector.

At a media briefing in Accra, the Chief Executive Officer of GEPA, James Tiigah, said the Authority is on course to achieve the five billion dollar target by 2018.
