We can’t campaign for Ivor – Council on Persons with Disability

Executive Secretary for the National Council on Persons with Disability, Kwamena Dadzie-Dennis, says public expectation that the Council will campaign for newly elected flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, is erroneous.

“It’s our wish for him to become President of Ghana as a physically challenged person but we cannot support Ivor Kobina Greenstreet by campaigning for him to ensure his victory,” Dadzie-Dennis said.

He explains: “As a group, we will pray for him because we’re government workers and we cannot engage in active politics.”

He was speaking Monday evening on Adom FM’s “Burning Issues” programme hosted by Afia Pokua.

Contributing to the discussions, President for Ghana Federation of the
Disabled, Ofori Debrah, said the federation was very excited over the victory of Greenstreet, adding that the former General Secretary of the party deserves commendation for his bold decision to lead the party.

He also commended the delegates who voted for Ivor Kobina Greenstreet because of his potential and his disability.

Ofori Debrah pledged that the federation will pray for him for God’s favor in the upcoming November polls.
