Pressure mounts on Nana Addo to list presidential staffers

As required by law, the Minority has intensified pressure on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo demanding him to make available to Parliament full list of Presidential Staffers immediately.

According to the Minority, it has taken too much time for the President to submit the list to the House.

Section 11 of the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463), requires that the President submits to parliament a report on the staffing at the Office of the President.
Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, debating the 2018 Budget statement said wages and salaries at the presidency has increased from GH¢79 million in 2017 to over GH¢119 million in the 2018 budget which is more than that for 15 ministries.

He said the government is not willing to submit the list of staffers because they want to create ‘jobs for the boys’.
