One Village, One Dam an insult, impossible – Kwesi Pratt

Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Junior, has asserted that New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer’s bearer “one village, one dam” campaign promise is an impossible endeavor and an insult to Ghanaians.

The Veteran journalist made the comment Monday on Atinka AM Drive hosted by Ekourba Gyasi.

Mr. Pratt said it is highly impossible to build a dam in every district adding that event if it was necessary, it is not possible. He dared anyone out there to show how feasible the promise is.

He said the geological nature of certain villages in Ghana may even contradict the promise and there are other villages located beside vast water bodies like the Volta Lake. He said constructing a dam in areas which have huge amounts of water makes no sense.

In furtherance, Mr. Pratt argued that such extravagant political promises are insults to Ghanaians and advised politicians to stay away from such unachievable political promises.

NPP’s flagbearer Nana Addo addressed the Bolgatanga Traditional Council in the Upper East Region last week about his plans for Ghana’s agriculture in a future Akufo-Addo government.

The three-time flagbearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) said: “As far as this part of our world is concerned, I want to go further and talk about one village one dam.”

Mr Akufo-Addo said his ‘1 village, 1 dam’ policy is to help Ghana become self-sufficient in food production and even become an exporter of food to the sub-region.
