Ghanaians cry for John Mahama as “competent” Akufo Addo plunges the country into Power Crisis less than three months (VIDEO)

Ghanaians across the country are crying for ex-President John Mahama following the plunging of the country into the dumsor power crisis some three months after the “competent” Akufo Addo took office.

The lingering power outages which had been the norm in the country since the return to multi-party democracy in 1992, was permanently addressed by the NDC government under the leadership of President Mahama.

Due to his compassionate nature, the ex-President honoured a promise he made on the floor of the house during his state of the nation address.
Addressing Parliamentarians last year, the President boldly declared that “he’ll fix the power crisis” and wont manage it unlike his predecessors.

Indeed, that promise was materialised as the President procured additional energy sources for the country chief among them being Ameri, Karpower and other thermal plants to augment the services of the hydro powered Akosombo Dam.

This was expected to cushion the country in anticipation of future deficits as the country was expected to even export power due to the increasing generational power stock.
But these gains have been reversed following the inauguration of the NPP government on January 7, 2017.
A letter sighted by breakingnewsgh.com written by the Volta River Authority paints a rather gloomy future for the country’s power sector.

The VRA has therefore asked managers of the power system to meet and come up with strategies to limit supply challenges.
“We shall be grateful if the system control manager will meet with our plant managers to manage the power system during the above stated period to limit any supply challenges,” the letter added.
So far several parts of the country with the worst hit being the capital city have been hit by days without electricity.

This effectively makes it the worst ever dumsor in the country’s history.
