Some residents of Nzema in the Western Region of Ghana are appealing to President-elect John Dramani Mahama to consider an Nzema indigene as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gas Company Limited as he prepares to form his government.
In a statement signed by the leader of the Municipal Youth Parliament, a youth group in Nzema, Mr. Jonas Kabutey congratulated John Dramani Mahama on his recent victory to the high seat of the country.
“We, the Youth Wing of Nzema, warmly congratulate you on your recent election victory. As you prepare to form your new administration, we respectfully urge you to consider appointing an Nzema indigene as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Gas Company Limited, an installation on Nzema land.
“This appointment would not only be a testament to your commitment to diversity and inclusion but also a strategic move to tap into the rich talent and expertise that the Nzema people have to offer. Ghana Gas, as a state agency, plays a critical role in the country’s energy sector, and we believe that an Nzema CEO would bring a unique perspective and understanding of the local context to the table,” part of the statement indicated.
They further indicated that appointing an Nzema as the CEO of the Ghana Gas facility will also serve as a tribute to the late President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah.
