The deceased, Onwura Hyacinth Ani was shot dead in farm by the Fulani who were reportedly infuriated that late Ani complained over the destruction of his farm land at Ihukulu Village, Ohuani Amofu in Nkerefi by their cattle.

The suspects are now in police custody at Amagunze from where they would be moved to the police headquarters in Enugu, while investigations had started.

Police Spokesman DSP Ebere Amaraizu confirmed the story in a telephone interview with Vanguard, saying that the matter was being handled to avert crises.

“The matter is being handled. I don’t have the details yet but the matter is being handled. Some suspects have been arrested,” he said.
