State of Insecurity: Where are the men of God – Dr. Bissiw quizzes

Dr. Hannah Bissiw, former Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture

In the wake of the increasing spate of armed robbery in the country, a former Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Hannah Bissiw is wandering why the ‘Men of God’ in the country have gone quiet.

According to her, even though armed robberies have become rampant in the country in the last few weeks, the people entrusted with the security of the citizenry are yet to salvage the situation.

In the first two months of 2018 alone, it is reported Ghana has seen a 45 percentage growth in armed robbery cases, with the figure set to rise if authorities do not act.

In an interview with Radio Gold’s Samuel Eshun on the Gold Power Drive Thursday, the former Deputy Minister and legislator, Dr. Hannah Bissiw, quizzed why pastors, prophets, evangelist, among other religious leaders in the country have suddenly refused to speak out about the wrongs in the President Akufo-Addo administration.

“When these things happened under the NDC, we had men of God chastising the then administration. When these things happened under the NDC, the whole country turned upside down. Why is it that the men of God are not talking this time around?”

“If what is happening had happened under the NDC, you would have heard people screaming on top of their voices that investors should not come into the country because there is insecurity in the country,” she condemned.

The former Tano South lawmaker believes President Akufo-Addo’s refusal to disband the Delta Force, Invincible Forces and other militant groups within his party has contributed to the rise in armed robbery cases.

“When this government came to power, every Land Cruiser belonged to government per their terms. When these terrorist groups (Delta, Invincible Forces) were taking cars from people, they were being applauded. Today those cars are been used for armed robbery,” she alleged.
