Sammy Awuku defends ‘Double’; says even prostitutes could be National Security operatives

The national organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku, has hinted that the National Security could even employ the services of prostitutes if the need arose.

He said the service does not matter the work you were earlier doing but rather the service required intelligence gathering. Speaking on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ programme, he maintained that those peddling falsehood either lack knowledge or are ignorant about the operations of the National Security.

According to him, National Security is an institution that works with all manner of people to derive information from any outfit in the country depending on the kind of information required in a particular case. “We have prostitutes as National Security workers, it depends on the type of people they want to deploy on a particular job,” he said. He added that the fact that some persons could not write their names does not mean they cannot be used if they have the skills and ability to get right information for the institution.

‘Double’ had been accused by Ningo-Prampram MP, Samuel George, of being among the National Security operatives who fired gunshots towards a crowd during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-elections on January, 21, 2019. Sam George also alleged that ‘Double’ was a member of the pro-NPP militia group, Invincible Forces.
