President Mahama To Inaugurate “John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Library” On Monday

President John Dramani Mahama will on Monday July 25, 2016, inaugurate “The John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Library” at the Chapel Square, Cape Coast at 9:00am, in memory of the late president.

Born on July 24, 1944, at Tarkwa, in the Western Region of Ghana, late President Mills served as President of Ghana from 2009 to 2012.

The commemoration is under the auspices of University of Cape Coast, the John Evans Atta Mills Centre for Law and Governance, GIMPA and the Planning Committee under the auspices of the Government of Ghana.

There will also be the 4th John Evans Atta Mills Commemorative Lecture themed “Atta Mills the Servant Leader” will be delivered by the Former President of Malawi,Joyce Banda at the UCC Main Auditorium.

Late President Evans Atta Mill was described as “a peacemaker who never made a disparaging comments in public” despite intense criticisms and vilification from his political supporters and opponents alike.

He was the first Ghanaian head of state to die in office on Tuesday July 24, 2012.

A day described as “a dark day which shook Ghana.”

“Now praise we great and famous men,
The fathers named in story;
And praise the Lord, who now as then
Reveals in man His glory.”
