President Mahama Holds Bilateral Meeting With Japanese PM Shinzo Abe (Pictures)

Ghana and Japan have signed two major agreements after a bilateral meeting between President John Mahama and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The two agreements are on the construction of an Advanced Medical Centre at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and the extension of scholarship for improving Ghana’s human resource.

The two leaders have also agreed to further deepen cooperation in the areas of improved health, infrastructure development and economic relations.

President Mahama pledged his support to ensure that the bilateral relations are taken a notch higher.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Japan is excited to restore the Yen loan portfolio which will be used for the Eastern Corridor Road Project and the Construction of a new Bridge over the Southern Volta Lake.

Meanwhile, President Mahama has assured the Japanese Prime Minister that he will personally attend the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development TICAD, to be held in Nairobi, Kenya in August this year.
