NPP Invincible Forces takeover NADMO office in Techiman

Men suspected to be members of the Invincible Forces of the New Patriotic Party have besieged the National Disaster Management Organisation office (NADMO) at Techiman in the Brong Ahafo region, Monday demanding answers on how the office is run.

They ordered the staff who had reported for duty to leave the office and go home and locked up the offices.

According to the NADMO Coordinator for the area Gibril Kesse, “staff were in the office this morning when these guys came in and told them to leave, and that they have come to take over. So my people left and they locked the place up and took the keys away.”

As is usual with a change of government, some unruly elements take that chance to attempt to take over some public buildings feeling they have been given some mandate to misbehave.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has defended its men against allegations that they shy away from arresting and prosecuting offenders who are linked to the NPP.

They claim that all offenders are treated equally and without any consideration of their relationship with the party in government.
There is growing concern that the Police service is weak in dealing with political vigilantism. Groups like the NPP’s Delta Forces, Kandahar Boys, Burma Camp and Invisible Forces have grabbed headlines for boldly attacking state officials and locking up state buildings.
