GOVT ESTABLISHES WEBSITE FOR JOBS

Government has created a website where job seekers can apply for vacancies in the public sector by logging on www. GLMIS.org.gh.

The website, which would become effective November 30, would become a platform where vacancies available in the public sector for recruitment would be advertised.

The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations Haruna Iddrisu, announced this at a press conference in Accra yesterday when he launched the platform, dubbed Ghana Labour Market and Information System (GLMIS).

He said it would also help university and training institutions to know the skills required by both government and private institutions to enable them to train graduates in the field.

He said the ministry had created space on the website where the various public institutions could advertise employments available for the public to be aware off.

Mr.Iddrisu said institutions, including the Trade Union Congress, Ghana Statistical Service, the Ghana Police Service and Ghana Immigration Service could now post all information regarding employment on the website.

He said the website had provided a place where private institutions could register and place vacancies in their establishment, noting that the platform was free for employers and job seekers.
