GIVE MAHAMA’S ADMINISTRATION DUE CREDIT MR SKILLFUL “RECOMMISSIONER” – PART I OF MAHAMA PROJECTS COMMISSIONED BY AKUFO-ADDO

Not only does President Akufo-Addo dishonestly go about commissioning, recommissioning and cutting sod for projects that were ongoing under the Mahama administration because he does not have projects of his own to commission, the President even stooped so low to the level of ordering the removal of images of his immediate predecessor and all commemorative plaques that were unveiled by Mr Mahama. One would think former John Mahama is still governing Ghana with the way President Akufo-Addo cannot do anything without comparing himself to Mr Mahama. John Mahama has become his benchmark.

I hope President Akufo-Addo remembers to say thank you to former President Mahama for the smooth drive he enjoyed on the asphalted roads when he toured the Western and Brong Ahafo regions. There is nothing to debate when it comes to the Mahama administration and massive infrastructural development. Opinions are free anyway. While the Mahama administration was conceiving plans to develop the country and implementing them, then candidate Akufo-Addo, his Vice and party folks were on televisions, social media, radio and other public platforms describing the projects as photoshop.

President Mahama’s achievements in moving this country to greater heights deserve to be duly acknowledged.

There was a brouhaha of sorts over the initiator of the Wa water project because of a false statement the President made when commissioned the project. It is a documented fact that the $51.54 million project which produces 3.3 million gallons of water per day, was occasioned by the NDC administration. The sod cutting was done in February 2013 by then President Manama five good years after the exit of the Npp administration. President Akufo Addo who told Ghanaians that causing controversies is part of the political game, attributed that wonderful achievement to the Kufour administration. President Kufour, gentle as he is, carefully stayed out the President’s mischievous agenda.

SEKONDI FISHING HARBOUR

President Mahama secured a deal for the construction of the second phase of the Sekondi Fishing Harbour when he paid a three day visit to Japan. Apart from that the administration made other efforts to get the place revamped culminating in the massive development at the place. Before the 2016 election, Mr Mahama inspected works at the place. The chief of Asikado thanked him for the project and enumerated some of the benefits his people were going to get from the project. President Akufo and his Everest convoy were in Sekondi to cut sod for a completed project wasting the tax players money on fuel and travel allowance.

THE TAKORADI PORT EXPANSION WORKS

The sod cutting ceremony for this project was done in 2013 by President Manama. The idea to expand our ports was part of the President’s vision to modernize our ports to enable them take in modern and bigger vessels, reduce ship turnaround time and also provide a service and logistic base for the oil sector. Part of the project was commissioned by Mr Mahama before leaving office.

Nana Addo again took party members in their Everest convoy to Takoradi to cut sod for a project that is almost complete. A project the former president commissioned completed components before leaving office.

THE RIDGE HOSPITAL

It was number one on the Photoshop projects. When the Photoshop propaganda failed, Nana Addo raised the issues about cost only for his friend Kwaku Baako to expose his hypocrisy. It was one project the Npp vehemently challenged its implementation said so many outrageous lies about. It was completed and commissioned by President Mahama before leaving office. The Npp administration removed all images of the former president at the place, removed the commemorative plaque, and recommissioned the facility. As if that was not enough, they removed all personnel appointed to the place by the last administration and fixed persons sympathetic to their course to handle the place

The Skillful recommissioner Nana Akufo Addo again wasted millions of our taxes on another vague commissioning ceremony.

THE KUMASI AIRPORT PROJECT.

President Mahama performed the ceremony after securing parliamentary approval of a loan of 65,037,500 Euros from Banco Santander S.A. and export credit support from the United Kingdom Export Finance Agency, for onward lending in the sum of 7,762,500 Euros, to the Ghana Airports Company Limited, in November, 2016. The Mahama administration renovated the AIRPORT. President Akufo Addo did not disappoint his dummies- he wasted millions of cedis on another sod cutting ceremony.

KOTOKA INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION WORKS

President Akufo Addo lied that some major airlines have decided to operate in Ghana because of his government’s credibility. He made this statement at the time the United Nations had written officially to his government complaining about activities of his vigilante groups and general disorder in the country.

He was brutally exposed when the NDC played back what Air France officials said were the reasons why they decided to operate in Ghana. The made it clear that they have decided to operate here because of the massive expansion work at kotoka by the Mahama administration.

COMMUNITY DAY SECONDARY SCHOOLS

President Akufo Addo and his Npp described these schools as photoshop. They challenged the NDC administration to produce evidence of their existence even when journalists who attended commissioning ceremony of the completed ones have reported comprehensively on their networks.

President Akufo Addo ordered his MMDCEs to remove all images of Mr Mahama from the facilities and fix plaques with his picture on them. One of his ministers mischievously lied she personally secured a loan from the world bank to build a community day school in her constituency when this same person had described the facility as Photoshop in opposition. The world bank exposed her lies with an official statement it issued debunking what she said.

UNIVERSITY OF GHANA MEDICAL FACILITY

In opposition, the Npp said the facility was built by the University vehemently challenged government’s statement that it secured a loan from Israel for the construction of the facility. In government, Nana Akufo Addo and his Npp have shifted from their earlier position. Government is claiming full ownership and battling with the university over who handles the facility. The President will soon recommission the facility.

THE WESTERN RAILWAY LINES

President commissioned the reconstructed Western Railway lines to facilitate movement of goods and passengers before leaving office.

Apart from these projects, President Akufo Addo has recommissioned some health facilities built by the Mahama administration.
