Former President John Dramani Dramani Mahama is 59 years old, November 29, 2017.

Mr Mahama was the president of Ghana from 2012 until he lost elections to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2016.

He served as the Vice President from 2009 to 2012, and took office as president on 24 July, 2012 following the death of his predecessor John Atta Mills.

He was elected to serve his first term as president in the December 2012 election.

Prior to becoming vice president, Mr Mahama was a Member of Parliament from 1997 to 2009 and Minister of Communications from 1998 to 2001.
