CLEAN&CLEAR-GH HAS LENT ITS VOICE TO THE CALL FOR RESIGNATION OR REMOVAL OF JEAN MENSAH AND BOSSMAN

A group, Clean & Clear Gh, has lent its voice to the call for resignation or sack of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission and Dr Bossman (a deputy) of the EC before the 2020 election.

In a statement issued today 28/3/19, the group stated that the 2020 polls would not be free and fair with Madam Jean Mensah, a known Npp sympathiser and Dr Bossman a former Tescon (Npp) executive in saddle as chairperson and a deputy of the Electoral Commission, expressing fear that they would compromise the results.

The fear of the group according to its Chairperson, stems from what she described as Jean/Bossman’s partisan stance and their relationship with the President and the ruling party, the ground on which she alleged that plans had been concluded to manipulate the 2020 exercise in favour of the President.

“Our fear stems from their relationship with the President and the ruling party. Both of them are known sympathisers of the Npp and friends to the President. This makes us fear that despite series of assurances by the commission of free and fair elections, we are still not convinced of a free exercise” the chairperson said.

The group in Its statement warned that should the leadership of the Electoral Commission not be reorganized, Clean&Clear Gh would adopt other measures to take to the world the President’s deliberate measure to rig himself back to power in 2020.

In its statement copied to the United Nations, United States Embassy, British High Commission and European Union rep in Ghana, C&C Gh called the EC bosses attention to credible allegations that had been circulating online, pointing out their biases in favour of President Akufo-Addo. According to the chairperson because these allegations are weighty, it becomes necessary that they bring them to the EC bosses notice so they may be aware and then abstain from any act that may eventually corroborate them.
