Angry NDC youth set party office ablaze; burn chairman’s car

Some angry youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Wa West Constituency of the party in the Upper West Region have set the part of the party’s office in the constituency on fire.

The angry party members also burnt down a vehicle belonging to the constituency chairman.

The youth was protesting the failure of President John Mahama to nominate their favourite person for the position of DCE in the area.

Mr. Basiera Sankara was nominated by the President as the DCE for the Wa West District Assembly in a statement released by signed by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Alhaji Collins Dauda.

According to ACP Gariba, the police has been able to contain the situation and are patrolling the constituency.

He said no one has been arrested and investigations is in progress.
