Akufo-Addo to reward Mac Manu with top positions

President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo will appoint his campaign manager, Peter Mac Manu, as the board chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority, the TV 3 network has reported.

Mac Manu oversaw Akufo-Addo’s presidential campaign which the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate won by 53.85% of the votes. Akufo-Addo’s rival and incumbent president, John Mahama, had 44.40% of the votes.

The president-elect will also appoint Akosua Frema Opare as his chief of staff and Abu Jinapor as deputy chief of staff, according to a report by 3news.com.

On Sunday, Akufo-Addo announced that Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng would be named minister of science and technology.

He has also confirmed that Alan Kyeremanten will be minister for trade.
