Akufo Addo Running A Weak Campaign – Kofi Adams
The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo Addo is struggling to put together a campaign strategy ahead of the November general elections.
According to the NDC, Nana Akufo Addo’s is currently running a weak campaign such that the NPP is not able to mobilize crowd to attend its own programmes and have rather resorted to engaging in opportunistic campaigns.
The NDC’s assertion comes on the back of reports that the three- time flag bearer of the NPP will be travelling to Kwahu in the Eastern Region during the Easter festivities during which he’s expected to join the people of the mountainous area in a massive cleanup exercise.
Speaking on Okay FM Friday, National Organizer of the NDC, Kofi Adams stated that Nana Addo’s strategy of now visiting churches and markets where he ordinarily will not go is a clear indication that his campaign is really struggling.
“I hear Nana is going to take part in a cleanup exercise in Kwahu, is he doing that because it’s an election year? As he did in 2008 were he boarded public transport (trotro), because Prof. Mills was then conducting house to house campaign when he “Nana Addo” ordinarily will never do that “He said.
He added: “The NDC as on regular basis been organizing clean up’s in kwahu and its environs’ including last year, Nana Addo never shown any interest, this year being an election year, he’s quickening to go there for a clean up because he wants the votes,, Mr Akuffo Addo And Npp must stop their pretentious campaign acts ”
He concluded that because of this Nana Addo’s retreating popularity as observed by Samuel Kwaku Boafo, Former Minister of Chieftaincy and Culture, Nana Addo is now resorting to going to places where people have gathered on their own and gets few of his supporters to make noise then is captured as if all those people are his followers to deceive the public.
