A group in Effutu in the central region have responded in a strongest form of condemnation against the insults on President Mahama by twice defeated Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Akufo-Addo and Member of Parliament for the Effutu Alexander Afenyo-Markins.
They have served a notice of caution to the NPP flagbearer to apologise for his reckless remarks on the President or face their wrath.
Below is the full statement.

IN SIMPA EFFUTU
Neenyi Ane , Ladies and Gentlemen good morning. We have here assembled today because of the unpleasantly disparaging and insulting statements made by Hon. Alex Afenyo and Nana Akuffo Addo on the airwaves, which has gone viral , to the address of Simpafo. and also directed at His Excellency The President John Dramani Mahama .
They, Nana Akuffo Addo and Alex Afenyo making mouths at The President John Mahama described him and us Simpafo as being idiots and as insipients naturally lacking wisdom , scum of scavengers and beggars Decency forbids my repeating so.
Nana Akuffo Addo is not a lay person at all ,he is learned lawyer so also Afenyo is. He knows pretty well well that, H.E.John Mahama hails from Bole and therefore he is a Guan . He knows that Simpa Effutu and Bole are ethnically intrinsic part of the big Guan ‘community ‘ State. as all Simpafo are Guans so also citizens of Boles are . So he Nana Akuffo Addo deliberately and carefully chose his words to insult HE , Simpafo and the entire Guan community .
Both of them ; Nana Akuffo Addo and Alex Afenyo , are honourable members of New Patriotic Party. They are both contesting in this year ,2016 , general elections
Alex Afenyo on radio disdainfully described the people of Simpa as ” NKONTOR ” and that on daily basis ,Simpafo are always coming to queue at his door steps to beg without any scruple for alms and handouts.
Whilst Alex Afenyo Is currently desperately campaigning in SIMPA Effutu constituency for votes to be elected into parliament to represent us ; the people of SIMPA EFFUTU, Nana Akuffo Addo is also seeking our mandate as Ghanaians to ascend to the high office of the land as President of Ghana to rule over us
Hon Alex Afenyo is our current representative at the parliament We are aware that is NPP candidate for this year 2016 elections. He is here again seeking the mandate from “Simpafo” ; Simpa Mpanyin and Simpa Mbabun , to go to parliament for the second time at our expense . To parliament to represent SIMPA MPANYIN and SIMPA NKONTOR ? Hmmm ! ! !
Since Alex Afenyo entered parliament 2013 , 7th January, his contribution to development and expansion of infrastructure in the constituency has been zero His actions, conduct , utterances and behaviour have been worrying . All his actions lead to one thing ; undermine and corrupt the foundations of moral turpitude to bemire transient integrity The situation is very unfortunate and embarrassing to say the least.
Worried as we all were we had exercised great restraint . During all this trying moment we have endured tolerated and controlled ourselves.
We were guided by our hope and faith ; “THE DAY WILL DAWN ” We , Simpafo applying the wisdom of our culture of moral philosophy ,I.e.; patience, tolerance, self control and quite listening calmness , the cornerstone of the very foundations of wisdom , which to abound in the field of epistemology managed to avoid unpleasant exchanges.
We were hoping that things will change for better and that, Afenyo and Nana Akuffo Addo will have the sense and remorse to retract their insults and abuses to apologise to the people of SIMPA EFFUTU.
But regrettably our MP Alex Afenyo ignored the space and chance we offered him to withdraw and retract his unfortunate statement. Obviously in so doing Alex Afenyo has taken us for granted and has refused to apologise for calling us Simpafo; ” NKONTOR “. This is unfortunate , All we can say is that Alex Afenyo you have lost your chance .
Before Alex Afenyo ever became known as Alex Afenyo Markin to become elected member of parliament to represent people of Effutu Constituency , SIMPAFO, we , Simpafo , had had our sons and daughters of Simpa who , in the past , represented and served Simpafo as elected member of National Assembly member , parliamentarians and political appointees They all distinguished themselves in the offices and positions they occupied or held creditably .
They by the dint of their hard work and honest services to SIMPA EFFUTU MAN and to GHANA as a whole won for them respect and the recognition to became national icons .
These galant sons and daughter therefore brought fame and glory to SIMPA EFFUTU MAN
The memories of the good works and services they rendered, the high moral standard and , the transient integrity they set and left behind as legacies continue to make us proud and inspire many.
They never embarrassed neither did they ever brought us any disturbing anxiety ,shame and disgrace .
However, we are sorry to state that , we can not say the same positive things about our current MP. Alex Afenyo with the niche of baggage of gymnastics , negative public reputation and fraudulent behaviour he has couched for himself. For us Alex Afenyo is a failure and disappointment.
Ladies and Gentlemen, It requires great faithfulness , loyalty ,integrity and steadfastness to keep heritage entrusted safe and sound. The question is , can we entrust our faith, our future into hands of persons who see us “NKONTOR ” and derogatorily refer to us idiots and irresponsible buffoons “SIMPA PANYIN “?
There is no way persons who we promote and elevate to find themselves in leadership positions and talk loosely about us ; the constituents , warm their hands on our poverty but do nothing to change our circumstances and only go about abusing and to make mockery of us, and at the same time want to continue to take advantage of our appalling situation can ever be trusted and therefore entrusted again by us with the fate and destiny of our people.
For as long as such privileged persons in our society see us ; Effutus as objects of ridicule as evidenced in the statements made by Hon. Afenyo Markin , NPP Parliamentary candidate and Nana Akuffo Addo, Presidential Candidate broadcasted on radio stations as ” nkontor”; beggars,and Simpa Panyin ;meaning insipience that we Simpafo , the GUANS, lack wisdom and are deficient in social management affairs ; and that we are irresponsible idiots then It is clear that our trust reposed in them has been forever been betrayed.
We should therefore not allow these abuses and insults to pass without demanding retraction and an unconditional apology from Alex Afenyo and Akuffo Addo to The people of Ghana , The Guan Community and to SIMPA EFFUTU STATE ANA PEOPLE. We Simpafo on our part will encourage good , decent and healthy social relationship among all manner of persons who come or find themselves visiting or working in Winneba in Effutu municipality.
What we ask in return is please do no abuse our hospitality and do not insult nor attempt to ridicule or make Effutu as an object of mockery.
As far as these two politicians are concerned we see and have now understood that, we are related to by them as mere commodities or as objects and not as human beings . For them we can easily be induced, settled or traded in at will We therefore can be silenced and bought over with money for in exchange for our votes In order that they can achieve their selfish political ambitions

HON ALEX AFENYO MARKIN RENDER PUBLICLY AN UNQUALIFIED APOLOGY FOR DISGRACING OUR MOTHERS , OUR FATHERS , YOUTH , OUR ELDERS BY CALLING AND DESCRIBING US “SIMPAFO ” AS “NKONTOR” SUCH DEROGATORY STATEMENTS TO OUR ADDRESS IS GROSSLY AN INSULT AND THEREFORE UNACCEPTABLE. WE LIKEWISE IN AN UNCERTAIN TERMS DEMAND FROM THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE AND FLAG BEARER OF NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY ,NPP , TO RETRACT AND TO WITHDRAW THE DEROGATORY AND INSULTING STATEMENT HE MADE ABOUT H. E. THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC GHANA BY SAYING THAT HE BEHAVES LIKE “SIMPA PANYIN “. WITH UNQUALIFIED APOLOGIES
If for anything at all , leaders or persons who look down on their constituents and derogatorily mock at them by calling them names are in the sense of the actual agents of discrimination, exploitation and hardship
What HIs Excellency The President John Dramani Mahama came to tell us in our capital Winneba at ADANSE PARK was indeed an eye opener to hidden facts. The day must be marked as ” A Redemption Day From Alex’s Lies ” and at the same time ” A day of shame in the annals of Effutu State. ” Why ?
Because on that fateful day His Excellency told us in Winneba the truth about development of infrastructure in Effutu Constituency for the past 8years .H.E. made us to learn that , our parliamentary candidate Hon. Alex Afenyo is an “NKONTOPONYI” literally meaning that Alex Afenyo is totally a liar. and untruthful person. ,”On That Fateful Day “, it came to light that really all the projects which Alex Afenyo claimed to have directly or indirectly initiated were all false . That they are inaccurate claims and that he, Alex Afenyo , is not part of government , has never made any presentation nor brought before government any suggestion, request or proposal for any development in Effutu Municipality. Alex Afenyo therefore he had nothing to do with all the past and ongoing projects in Effutu Constituency : Winneba , Sankor , Gyahadze , etc . He is just deceiving and throwing dust into people’s eyes .
The President informed us on the occasion of his visit that Winneba Fishing Harbour Project will definitely come on early next year. He said the project as designed is an integrated development project with fish processing , fish storages Refrigeration etc facilities . This project is very dear to our fathers and brothers whose main occupation is Fishing
However,In reaction to this good news , our MP Hon Alex Afenyo instead of challenging HE to show beyond doubt how indeed the project will be actualize come next year , Alex Afenyo ,rather went from radio station to radio station saying that the President is not honest and that he was just making a promise knowing very well that the Winneba Fishing Harbour project will never come on
My question is what has our MP done for the people of Effutu and for that matter, Winneba. The answer is clear : NOTHING.
What we need is a paradigm shift for empowerment that will give us ; the youth , chance to get the opportunities to find ourselves in gainful employment to free ourselves from poverty
Let us vote for TELEMO WILL CONTINUE to provide you , my people , with the services , and means to come out of poverty to free yourselves from hardship to also live a delightfully dignified and a worthy life. .
