You Came To My House At 5:36 to Beg me: Martin Amidu to Akufo Addo

Former Special Prosecutor, Mr. Martin Amidu has once again hit back at the President by writing a long statement as a response to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.


According to Mr. Martin Amidu, he was frustrated by the President from carrying out his duties as an anti-corruption fighter.


He recounted instances where Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo asked him to halt investigations into the Agyapa Royalties limited deal.

Point number 10 of Mr. Martin Amidu’s response reveals how Ghana’s Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta visited his house as early as 5:36 am on October 22, 2020.


According to Mr. Martin Amidu, he explained to Mr. Ken Ofori Atta who is his best friend, why his assessment on the Agyapa royalties limited was professional.


“I explained this to my dear friend the Minister of Finance when he visited me as early as 5:36 am on the morning of October 22, 2020, in the company of a mutual friend”. Mr. Martin Amidu wrote.
Mr. Martin Amidu who is now a citizen vigilante noted that he informed the Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta, that even if the President employs the services of anti-corruption fighters from the United Kingdom and Singapore, they will arrive at the same conclusion as his.
“I told Ken Ofori Atta that the government may wish to invite a trusted and friendly anti-corruption countries such as Singapore or United Kingdom or the United States, and many others to replicate my analysis, and anti-corruption assessment work giving rise to the report using the same source letters and documents. I’m confident professionally and ethically they will arrive at the same anti-corruption assessment contained in the Agyapa Royalties limited”. Mr. Martin Amidu added in his response statement.

Mr. Martin Amidu has also described the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as the kingpin of corruption in Ghana. According to him, the Agyapa Royalties Limited deal is the most serious corruption scandal to ever hit the country since independence.

It is unknown if the office of the President will issue another statement anytime soon to counter Mr. Martin Amidu.
Mr. Martin Amidu announced his resignation from the office of the Special Prosecutor for various reasons including government interference and lack of resources to execute his work.
The President responded in a statement and declined all the allegations made by Martin Amidu. Mr. Martin Amidu granted an interview with Citi FM and revealed how his life was at risk and needed protection.
The President ordered the Police to offer Mr. Martin Amidu 24-hour protection
