We’ll always be indebted to you all”: Akufo-Addo makes a heartfelt tribute to women

On the occasion of Mother’s Day, President Nana Akufo-Addo has tweeted a heartfelt special message to the women in his life and all mothers across the country.

In the message, the president concluded that children will always be indebted to their mothers.

“Happy Mothers’ Day to my lady, Rebecca, my daughters, and to all mothers in Ghana. We’ll always be indebted to you all,” he tweeted on Sunday.

Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia also sent a “happy Mother’s Day” message to all women on his Facebook page.

The first lady also used her Mother’s Day message to addressed the teething maternity challenge at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), saying “no woman should die giving life to another. And no mother should lose a child she has carried for nine months.”

“As we celebrate mother’s day, I wish to remind all Ghanaians the needless deaths at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital,” she said.

On her part, the second lady, Samira Bawumia celebrated Mrs Rebecca Akufo Addo.
She wrote on Twitter: “On behalf of all Ghanaians, I will like to celebrate the mother of the nation, Auntie Becky, the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana

“Your genuine concern for children, your kindness and the way you receive us with open arms are some of our favourite things about you.
“We appreciate all that you have done and continue to do for us. “
