VRA Operating Only Two Turbines Due To Low Water Level In Akosombo Dam

The Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Kirk Koffi says the low level of water in the Akosombo dam is adversely affecting power generation.

He said the VRA is currently running only two turbines out of six.

Speaking after the media launch of the Association of Power Utilities of Africa, APUA, in Accra, Mr Koffi said with the onset of the rains the Authority expects a rise in the water level to bring the VRA to full operational capacity.
