The way now clear for us to supervise NDC polls – EC

13th April 2023

The Electoral Commission (EC) has said the way is now clear for it to supervise the 13 May 2023 presidential and parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Earlier, the EC pulled out of the exercise, citing an interlocutory injunction filed by flag bearer aspirant Kwabena Duffuor as the reason.

However, Dr Duffuor and Mr Edgar Asamoah Boateng, a parliamentary aspirant who also filed an injuntion, withdrew their suits, paving the way for the polls to come off as scheduled.

Following the removal of the legal roadblocks, the EC announced in a statement that it has met with the leadership of the NDC to finalise the processes toward Saturday’s polls.

The EC said arrangements were being made for a credible and transparent poll.
