Speaker of Parliament congratulates President-elect Akufo-Addo

The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, has congratulated the President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo on his elevation to the high office of the land.

In his welcome address, Mr. Adjaho said it was gratifying that the house has once again had a former member coming to serve in the high office of the land.

The Speaker also congratulated re- elected members of parliament on their victory. Whiles congratulating the MPs, the Speaker of Parliament commended members on the honourable and respectable manner in which they conducted themselves in the elections.

He was optimistic the work done in parliament will reflect on his presidency.

Mr. Adjaho commended the Electoral Commission, the security agencies, religious bodies and local and foreign observers in the just ended elections.

He urged Ghanaians to take pride in the peace and tranquility the country.
