Provisional figure show that the Gross Domestic Product, GDP, hits four point nine percent [4.9%] for the first quarter of this year.
This rate compares to the four point five percent seen in the same quarter last year.
Announcing the GDP figures in Accra, the Government Statistician, Dr Philomena Nyarko said the growth in the economy continues to be driven by the services sector which contributed sixty point one percent [60.1%] to the national average.
This was followed by industry and agricultural sectors which saw the lowest growth.
