Seek money before fame — Obouba J. A. Adofo

Obuoba J.A Kwabena Adofo, a celebrated Ghanaian Musician, has appealed to the current music stars to assist the old veteran musicians, since they are responsible for making the music genre what it is today.

Speaking to GhanaPoliticsOnline.Com , at the very time President Mahama made donations to selected veterans in the Music and movie industry, through Mr beautiful , and celebrities for Mahama Coordinators he said that though the President, Ghambro and other personalities putting in much effort to assist the veterans, there young upcoming ones also have a role to play in assisting their predecessors.

With over 40years experience in the Music industry and a 115 albums to his credit, Obuoba J.A. Adofo adviced the up and coming musicians to seek the counsel of the veterans since they are available ready to assist, guide and collaborate with them anytime they want.

Touching on the issue of as to why most Ghanaian Veterans musician are suffering today, he explained that it’s because during their days it was more about sacrifice since there was no much money in the business.

Explaining why the veterans don’t get called up for jobs, he said “most people see us as old musicians they can’t don’t business with while others don’t call us because most of us are sick and when called upon can’t deliver their end of the bargain, this makes us all jobless and inactive.”

He then advised the young up and coming musicians to do other businesses aside showbizness because some few years to come they might also get to a level where they won’t be much active anymore.

“Most of us veterans didn’t care about money during our days and was giving our services for free. This has really affected us in so many ways, so I will advise the young ones to bear in mind that they will grow to our age and if they don’t manage their finances, will end up like most of us so I urge them to make money and build the future
