The Ministry of Sanitation has cleared the refuse around the Australian High Commission a day after the Commissioner complained about the filth in that area.

In a tweet, on his Twitter handle the Australian High Commissioner to Ghana Andrew Barnes called on the local government authorities to address the poor sanitation challenge facing Accra.

“The scene this morning in the street near our High Commission: encourage the local authorities to step up their effort to meet the President’s flagstaffghana promise to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa by 2020. sanitation”

After his tweet, most Ghanaians supported his call for a clean Accra and a clean Ghana at large.

This has prompted the Minister of Sanitation Kofi Adah to take some of his workers to the Cantonment area where the High Commission is located to clean the place.
