Ghana’s second lady, Samira Bawumia, has publicly criticized the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, as the NPP Presidential primaries intensify.
During a campaign event, Samira Bawumia addressed Kennedy Agyapong and his remarks regarding the NPP. She alleged that the controversial MP had stated that if he didn’t secure the flagbearership, he wouldn’t mind if the NPP ended up in the opposition.
Samira Bawumia argued that Kennedy Agyapong’s indifference to the NPP’s potential shift to the opposition was due to his and his family’s considerable wealth, extending down to the 99th generation. Consequently, she believed he showed little concern for the ordinary party members who would suffer if the party faced defeat.
Mrs. Bawumia concluded that this situation underscores why her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, should be chosen as the party’s next leader, as he is the one to lead them towards the goal of “breaking the 8.”
