Remarkable Accomplishments By President Mahama

It’s funny how one can do a million good and one wrong but will be forever remembered for the wrong deed.
In President Mahama’s case, one may argue that the bad may outweigh the good which makes it hard for citizens to really apprecaite his accomplishments.

He deserves some credit though for he has done a lot of good.

Find below some of the key accomplishments of President Mahama since his reign as the President Of Ghana.

Atuaba Gas (Ghana Gas)
The Ghana Gas project which is near completion will produce 107 million standard cubic feet of lean gas, 500 tonnes of LPG, 80 tonnes of pentane and 45 tons of condensates daily.

The Nungua Water Desalination
President Mahama’s administration spent $1Billion to remove salt from the sea water, providing drinkable water for the people of Nungua and it’s environs.

Kpong Water Project (Adenta Water)
President John Mahama turned on the valves at the Kpong Water project site that allowed residents of Adenta and its environs to have access to pipe borne water for the first time in over a decade. Water started flowing to residents in 2014.

Awoshie-Pokuase Road
The Awoshie-Pokuase road is near completion and it was made possible by President Mahama’s administration.

Ridge & Police Hospital Expansion
The government spent $250Million to expand the Ridge Hospital to a teaching hospital. The hospital has been expanded from a 200- to 420-bed capacity hospital, while departments such as Imaging, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Accident and Emergency, Neonatal Intensive Care, Burns, Pharmacy and Laboratory, have been expanded. The Police Hospital is also undergoing expansion.

Kumasi Airport Renovation
Even though it’s not an international airport yet, $23Million was spent on renovating the runway of the Kumasi Airport.

YES Programme
YES is a Government of Ghana programme initiated by President John Dramani Mahama with a ten million Ghana cedis (GH¢10,000,000) seed fund to assist young Ghanaians with creative and innovative business ideas and plans to achieve their full potential.

Tamale International Airport
An international airport is being built in Tamale, $100 million have been put into the development and expansion of the Tamale airport into an international airport.

Nkrumah Circle Interchange
The 74.88 million euros circle interchange is on course. President John Dramani Mahama cut the sod for the construction of the three-tier interchange at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra in October, 2013

Takoradi Port Exansion
$344 Million has been set aside to expand the Takoradi port. The project is currently on course.

Sugar Factories
$35 million Komenda Sugar factory development is on course & another $ 250 million Savelugu Sugar Factory & Sugar Plantation is also in development.

200 Community School Project
President John Dramani Mahama cut the sod for the commencement of the construction of his 200 Community Senior High School (SHS) to be spread across the country, this is in fulfillment of his 2012 election promise he made to Ghanaians. The project has been in development since 2013.
