Rebecca Akufo-Addo weeps at presidential inauguration

The First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Akuffo, could not contain her emotions as she attended the inauguration of her husband, Nana Akufo-Addo, as the president of the Republic of Ghana.

Tears flowed down her cheeks as the reality of her husband’s achievement finally hit home.

Rebecca campaigned rigorously for her husband ahead of the elections, calling on Ghanaian to vote for him.

She said in several interviews that she hoped Ghanaians would finally give Akufo-Addo a chance to lead the country on his third attempt.

With Akufo-Addo set to take the oath of office, Rebecca felt tears of joy that a long-held family dream has finally been realised.

Meanwhile, Mahamamudu Bawumia, has taken the oath of office and is officially vice-president of Ghana.
