Ghanaian singer Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, known in showbiz as Mzbel has said former President Jerry John Rawlings is not interested to see the National Democratic Congress (NDC) unseat President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 general elections.
Rawlings has doubted the NDC’s chances to stage a comeback in 2020, telling them to forget it, because President Nana Akufo-Addo’s performance will be hard to surmount.
Nana Addo has taken steps in fulfilling campaign promises, starting with the fight against illegal mining operations or galamsey.
The One District One Factory policy at Ekumfi in the Central Region, which is expected to be replicated across the more than 200 district across the country.
The Free Senior High School policy has also been launched to absorb fees of first year students admitted to various schools across the country.
A major campaign policy, the government is confident it will lead to the education of several children especially from deprived communities, who normally fail to continue with their education because of financial challenges.
Rawlings believes if Nana Addo’s government sustains its performance, it will be difficult for the NDC to return to power in 2020.
“These people think they can unseat this man [Nana Addo] in 2020…NPP? After only four years? No!,” he said when the CEO of EIB Network, Bola Ray (Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi), latter called on him at his residence to officially invite him to the launch of his biography come September 21, 2017.
But Mzbel in a Facebook post said the former President is not interested to see the NDC capture power in 2020 urging all NDC supporters to take heart and be calm.
