Radio Gold Launches 20th Anniversary Celebration

A veteran Radio Gold Presenter, has thrown a challenge to host live programme for 20 hours uninterrupted.

This is part of the 20th Anniversary celebration, which coincides with the 59th Independence Anniversary of Ghana on March 6, 2016.

The launch of the 20th Anniversary, takes place tomorrow at the Lartebiokorshie premises of the station, where many of the country’s leading broadcasters cut their teeth.

Founded on March 6,1996, Radio Gold 90.5 Fm, has grown to be the source of authentic news in Ghana and the sub-region being the first to introduce satire on radio with its famous “Teachers Classroom” programme which drew audiences closer to their sets to listen to quality intellectual
arguments.

One of the oldest programmes on private radio, “Efo Konkonsa” and the famous “Toli Masters” which produced Funny Face, are undoubtedly some of the best programmes the country has seen.

The station is unarguably the first to introduce Newspaper Review, giving resource persons the opportunity to interrogate issues in the dailies.

Currently in Ghana, Starr Fm’s Robert Nii Arday Clegg, Kwame Sefa Kai of Peace Fm, Patrice Amegashi of Viasat One and Fiifi Banson of Kasapa Fm, all morning show hosts in the capital are products of Radio Gold.

The Ace presenter (name withheld) therefore aspires to use the challenge to garner support for health delivery within the catchment area of Radio Gold and beyond.

The choice to focus on health, is anchored on the need to have a healthy people, which culminate in a wealthy nation. The move is to make residents healthy in the nation’s drive to deepen development alongside global lines.

Drawing attention to Radio Gold’s 20th Anniversary celebration, the veteran broadcaster, will demonstrate his dexterity as he hosts personalities of repute in their fields of endeavour to raise funds in support of the reconstruction of the Recovery Ward of the Kaneshie Polyclinic, which is believed to be the first polyclinic in Accra, Ghana.

The reason for focusing on the health needs of the residents, hinges on the need to improve their health conditions by creating access for optimum health care at all times.

The programme dubbed ’Agenda 20, 20, 20 Live’ seeks to raise 200, 000 Ghana cedis in support of the venture.

Discussions on the programme which will span politics, health, development, education, employment, entertainment among others, will digest the issues thoroughly with experts and former Radio Gold presenters.

The veteran ace presenter, will use the programme to appeal to corporate bodies and individuals to donate generously to the worthy course.

The programme will also be used as a model for the youth to work hard, and brace through the odds and achieve set targets and objectives in life.

Stay tuned to Radio Gold 90.5 Fm and be a part of this challenging and worthwhile live presentation, which starts on March 3 (10:pm) to March 4 (6:pm) to mark 20 years of impeccable radio broadcasting.
